PEOPLE'S FOOD SOVEREIGNTY FORUM 2009
The CSO Forum on People’s Food Sovereignty (the CSO Forum) aimed to bring together representatives from peasant and small-scale family-farmers organizations, rural women, artisanal fisherfolk, indigenous people, rural youth, pastoralists, landless people, the urban poor and NGOs, to develop joint analyses and strategies to overcome the tragic situation of hunger in the world.

NYELENI 2007
We, more than 500 representatives from more than 80 countries, of organizations of peasants/family farmers, artisanal fisherfolk, indigenous peoples, landless peoples, rural workers, migrants, pastoralists, forest communities, women, youth, consumers and environmental and urban movements have gathered together in the village of Nyéléni in Sélingué, Mali to strengthen a global movement for food sovereignty.

We are representatives of organizations of peasants, family farmers, indigenous peoples, landless peoples, artisanal fisherfolk, rural workers, migrants, pastoralists, forest communities, rural women, rural youth, and defenders of human rights, rural development, the environment, and others. We come from the whole world, to participate in the "Land, Territory and Dignity," to defend our land, our territory, and our dignity.

The social movements, farmer, fisherfolk, pastoralists’, indigenous peoples’, environmentalist, women’s organizations, trade unions, and NGOs gathered here in Rome, express our collective disappointment in, and rejection of, the official Declaration of the World Food Summit: five years later.

WORLD FORUM FOR FOOD SOVEREIGNTY 2001
For the peoples’ right to produce, feed themselves and exercise their Food Sovereignty. Between September 3 to 7, 2001, more than 400 delegates from peasant and indigenous organizations, fishing associations, non-governmental organizations, social agencies, academics and researchers from 60 countries around the world met in Havana, Cuba at the World Forum on Food Sovereignty.

NGO FORUM ON FOOD SECURITY 1996
We are representatives of more than 1,200 organizations from some 80 countries, from all regions of the world. We seek to bring the message of the more than one billion hungry and malnourished people of the world, most of them children and women. Through regional and global consultations we have discovered and affirmed our mutual solidarity. Our collective vision derives from our knowledge that food security is possible.
