23 June 2019: Election of the new FAO Director General, Qu Dongyu (China)

This morning 191 FAO member countries chose the successor to Director General José Graziano da Silva; with 108 votes the Chinese candidate Qu Dongyu has been elected as new FAO DG.

(71 votes for the French candidate Catherine Geslain-Lanéelle and 12 votes for the Georgian candidate Davit Kirvalidze). The curriculum vitae of the candidates can be found here: http://www.fao.org/3/mz073en/mz073en.pdf.
