The next Asia and the Pacific Regional Civil Society Consultation in conjunction with the 38th FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (APRC) [*] will be held from 10 to 12 March 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Civil Society Organization (CSO) Consultation is a self-organized regional meeting convened alongside the FAO APRC. It brings together representatives of diverse civil society constituencies across the Asia-Pacific region to exchange analysis, share experiences from the ground, and develop coordinated policy inputs and interventions to the APRC.
The Consultation is co-organized by the International Planning Committee (IPC) and the CSO Ad Hoc Committee for FAO Engagement (AHC), in close coordination with the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (RAP), and in line with FAO rules, procedures, and guidelines. It builds on long-standing CSO consultation processes aimed at strengthening structured and meaningful civil society engagement with FAO.
The 2026 CSO Consultation will include plenary and thematic sessions aligned with APRC agenda priorities, as well as a one-day Youth Leaders Dialogue to ensure that youth perspectives are substantially reflected in the Consultation’s outcomes and recommendations.
Civil society organizations and networks beyond the convenors’ immediate constituencies are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Please note that submission of an EOI does not guarantee participation or sponsorship for travel. Final selection of participants both funded (by CSOs) and self-funded will be undertaken by the above-mentioned regional CSO Steering Committee, guided by FAO principles on balanced representation, including constituency, geographic, age, and gender balance (please see FAO Guidelines for ensuring balanced representation of Civil Society in FAO meetings and processes, for more information).
Confirmed participants will receive a formal registration link by the regional CSO Steering Committee to complete the required preparatory and logistical arrangements.

[*] The FAO Regional Conferences are the highest forums and governing bodies of the Organization at this level and usually take place once every biennium. The CSOs consultation meetings are organized autonomously by and for civil society actors in the region, prior to the FAO Regional Conferences. The objective is to bring together civil society organizations representing different constituencies to discuss specific items on the Conference agenda and key issues of relevance to the region. In recent years, CSOs have been able to participate, through spokespersons, in FAO Regional Conferences during technical and ministerial sessions.
